Childhood shenanigans

Ocean Park is one of our favourite places to visit. When we first met, it was the time we started to reach the height where we could go on the rides. We were fearless. We wanted to try EVERYTHING. Let's see how we do 15 years later.

Because this is re-living our childhood, we tried to dress as alike as we would when we were younger. And we were acting silly and all, but that's just the usual us. Here we will have a closer look of our outfit today!

J is wearing a T-shirt from Armani Exchange (not Emporio Armarni as she mistakenly stated in the video) and booty shorts. Of course she has her all time favourite keds on. She's ready to take her day on at Ocean Park!

T has on a T-shirt that her boyfriend bought her when they went shopping in Mong Kok. She loves it cause it reminds her of her dog when she was younger. Her shorts are from Cotton On, which is featured previously in It's a girl thing. T's juicy jacket is made of terrycloth, which makes it very convenient for a day out. Her skull shoes are from Steve Madden.

T & J are wearing matching jewelleries today, just like how when you were young, you and your best friend would want to have the same thing. Today their accessories, the cross rings, mini skull and mini clover come from Style By Essenza. T's friendship bracelets are handmade by her other very talented best friend, V, as a birthday gift.

Now lets begin our day at Ocean Park!

Into the aquarium we go..... :)

Even though I was busy capturing J's crazyness, I still managed to take some snapshots of the beautiful sea creatures and adorable animals there have in the Ocean Park Hong Kong.

The animals doing their thing, like a boss.

If you observe closely, you would see that the penguins are actually undercover, Government agents on a secret mission to deliver and execute 'O.C' - Operation Cute.

After each of the visits with the lovely animals, OF COURSE we mucked around in the gift stores.

Venturing into the unknown of seaweed land...

and abducting adorable animals...

Most of all, we left our mark (erasable, though), made a wish and went back to Old Hong Kong in Ocean Park as well!

Ten years down the line, we return to a place where all our childhood memories are embedded. It is almost as if, our child souls have taken over for the period we were there - we felt so carefree, happy and ever-so-slightly idiotic.

Nothing screams 'Good ole' times!' like this trip back to Ocean Park.

Hope you enjoyed joining us in our trip back to childhood! How about you? What was the highlight of your childhood? Did you have a best friend where you guys planned to wear matching outfits as well? Do let us know - we would like to hear from you!

It's a girl thing

Dear all,

I am just going to say it out loud and admit it.

I'm a shopaholic. There, I said it.

I went on a shopping spree today for my upcoming trip to Kota Kinabalu.  Initially I just planned to have lunch and go watch Iron Man 3 with my boyfriend, which by the way was really good. But since we had two hours in between lunch and movie, my dear boyfriend suggested we go shopping for our upcoming trip. At my three most favourite places - Cotton On, H&M and Zara.

I walked into Cotton On and all hell broke loose.

I was on a mission and there was no stopping me! After spending nearly an hour in the store, I walked out with my prizes and $1,000+ less in my bank account.  Here I was thinking "Okay, I am done for today." But the second I walked into H&M, that thought was out the window. Finally after another hour, it was almost time for the movie, and my boyfriend thought it'd be best to keep me out of Zara since I spent another $1,000 in H&M.

Nonetheless, I love all the stuff I bought today and I keep saying, its not JUST for the trip, some of the things I can wear for work too! So it will be worth it :) But below are a few outfits that I have purchased for my vacation.

This blue denim dress is from Zara. I love the details of the dress at the back. It is simple yet classy!

This black tiger sleeveless caught my eye the minute I walked into H&M. It could be paired with leggings.

This top is from Zara and the shorts are from Cotton On. This outfit is going to be perfect for the summer heat in Kota Kinabalu.

I love this long floral dress from Cotton On, the fabric is light and comfortable. The length of this dress elongates your entire body and make you look longer, hence taller and leaner.

The top and skirt are both from H&M. The top is just a basic tank for like 30 bucks. The skirt is silky with a tribal pattern.  I decided to pair it this way for a more casual and light look. It also says "I'm ready for my vacation!!"

This comes to the end of my shopping spree. For this week. I hope. But hey! Loving clothes and shopping is just a girl thing! "Discover the joy of shopping and you will find happiness." says the shopaholic. On a serious note, to be able to buy something that you really like when it is affordable or unbelievably cheap, is really satisfying.  I once went to Cotton On to buy a blazer, thinking its like $200. When I got to the cashier, turns out it was on sale for $25!! That kind of satisfaction just cannot be explained. Anyhow, you now have a glimpse of me being a shopaholic.  Shop-away dashionistas!

Chuffin' 'ell, I 'av nowt t'wear!

We have ALL been there at one point or another:
"Oh my God, what do I wear to attend (Insert name here)'s birthday party/celebration??"
Even as children, we had to make that life-changing decision of dressing up as Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella; or as Wolverine or Batman.

This post was actually collectively inspired by my friends. Of course, it is T's birthday soon (April 5th *hint hint* lol). It was also inspired by her as, well, being a girl; my best friend in Malaysia; and my girls back in England.

There always came a SPECIAL time (most of the time, if not every time), when we were facing a closetful of outfits, yet had NOTHING to wear. Yes ladies (and gents!), I am sure you know that feeling very well!

And so, as the (modern) saying goes: "We gotta do what we gotta do!" - and shopping time it shall be.

(Editor's note: It is Causeway Place, not Causeway Plaza!)

This was my dance day-cum-shopping day outfit: the skirt is easily taken off and the top was my dance top previously featured on "Backstage Pass"

Initially, I thought I would end up scouting around many places, but I actually only went to two places: Cotton On in Central and Causeway Place in Causeway Bay. Here are some outfit selections from Cotton On:

I especially LOVE the polka-dot skirt! I find that patterns are a great way to spice up an outfit/look and if paired with heels, either one of these outfits would be a good birthday party/celebration outfit (although it is leaning towards the more casual end of the line!)

So after leaving Cotton On in Central, I ended up at Causeway Bay and also, shop-spotting (you know, when you spot something and instinctively know that it is perfect and all that jazz) in Causeway Place and Causeway Place only! The first, were the heels:

I came across this shop called 'HiHeel' at the place and it instantly drew me in:

Somehow, the shop just spelled out: "There's something for you" the moment you set eyes upon it - and indeed I did!

The sales member, Jason, was very lovely as well! He noted my favourite style/colour etc. of heels and recommended to me a selection of heels for me to try and choose from. Most importantly, they accommodate for 'larger' shoe sizes here than the average UK 5 shoe size that you normally find in independent shops!

The service is exceptionally personalized and friendly and within 10 minutes I have found my perfect shoes. (And a good deal with it as well!) Another point to note is that you know they are quality the moment you try on the heels - if you don't, experiment with the different price range of shoes, take note of the 'sensation' when you wear it and move it around and you would come to recognize the shoe's quality. (Although it isn't always necessarily the case for the more expensive shoe to be the better one! It is all about individuality with that shoe!)

I definitely look forward to returning in the near future to get more heels and will be featured on Dashion. If you are interested in taking a trip there or finding more about HiHeel, here are some details:
"If you are looking for something funky, wicked, unique heel; than you have come to the  right place. Happy shopping my Lady. Cheers" (Edited)

So what are the shoes like? *Drum roll*

My beautiful Gianmarco Lorenzi heels that fit like heaven and is actually a variegated version of a pair of heels I used to have (with the glitter and all that!)

The best bit of this pair of the heels is the heel shape itself. It is subtly caving inwards but it makes all the difference and it is just so. damn. beautiful!

So as you may have come to know in the video, the shoes were ever-so-slightly over-budget therefore I was reconsidering about getting an outfit and using what I (don't) have in my closet. HOWEVER, it was destiny to get lost whilst trying to leave Causeway Place ...

I came across this corner shop called 'Babylon' and what caught my eye was this:
"MAX MAX MAX MAX MAX SALE SALE SALE SALE SALE .."
I kid you not.

So I went in and looked at the sales rack, hoping to find a dress (and at the same time, hoping not to so I don't go even more over-budget) and what happens? I found it.

I was in love. The red-black colour combination and lace sleeves and top lining it. *swoon*

I didn't even manage to try it on and I knew I had to have it (Though, it is NOT recommended to do what I did! Always try on your outfits before buying them - it is one thing to spot them and another to wear them).

When I got back to T's place, I experimented with various accessories and had a further choice of using a thin, black waist belt or my black furry scarf.

It has been a great day shopping and finding my perfect outfit for a birthday celebration party. Especially with my new heels! (which, honestly, was actually my main priority for the shopping trip - a good pair of heels could make whole lot of difference to any outfit!)

So if you had nowt t'wear, what would YOU do? :)

Tweet or Instagram us (@DashionHime) your shopping successes (especially heels! lol) and we will feature them on our Twitter/IG pages! Also, don't forget to follow us for more Dashion love to come soon!
