Enchant Me

"Enchant me"

Every girl grew up imagining what her Prince Charming is going to be like.  He must be perfect just like in the fairytales we know. Prince Charming will ride on his white horse, sweep us off our feet and carry us to the castle where we will live happily ever after.

No matter how cynical or realistic any girl is, this thought was in our head once upon a time.  We had such strong faith in love.

We have all dreamed about our perfect date. "He" will blow us away with all these romantic gestures.  It will be over the top and cheesy, but we will love it.

"I think you're a hopeless romantic who's discovered that romance is hopeless." - Michaela Conlin (May in Enchanted)
This is one of my favourite movie quotes.  I think it applies to every single girl out there, whether they figured it out sooner or later. Reality kicks in; boys in the real world are no Prince Charming. We come to realize that and all we really want in the end is for the boys to show that they care. Simple!

Enchanted is one of my all time favourite movies, it best describes every girl out there. We come into this world full of hope, faith and love.  Just like Giselle we believe happily ever after is that simple, but in reality... Love may not be how we have always imagined as a young girl, but every girl deserves to be treated as a princess once in a while.

I love how Giselle was introduced to the concept of "a date".  A perfect date night for me is where my "Prince Charming" is willing to make the effort of dressing up and taking me out on a romantic candlelight dinner.

"Morgan honey, just because she has on a funny dress doesn't mean she's a princess.  She's a seriously confused woman who's fallen into our laps." - Patrick Dempsey (Robert Phillip in Enchanted)
Girls love to put on their best and be appreciated.  As yummy as Patrick Dempsey is, I seriously hope my date will not think I'm a loony like him. But we should remember the wise words of 6 year old Morgan from Enchanted!
"Remember when you go out not to put too much make up otherwise the boys will get the wrong idea and you know how they are..." - Rachel Covey (Morgan Phillip in Enchanted)
I used L'oreal's beige harmony for my eyeshadow and MAC's black liquid eyeliner (my all time favourite) for the eye makeup. For my lips, I used YSL's Rouge Laque for a more daring colour.
Date night is the perfect time to "Enchant Me" - impress your partner. "Everything looks better under the candlelight!" - the wise words of me. :) The delicious food, gorgeous view, good wine and most importantly, the great company.

Boys, we really do like to be pampered once in awhile. We're not asking for a lot, just for you to show that you care enough to make an effort!

Now, let us have a closer look on what I chose to wear for this lovely date with my "Prince Charming".

Black jacket - Prada
White Dress - Forever 21
Belt - unknown
Handbag - Louis vuitton
Shoes - Pedder Red
Jewellery set - Bejewelled Bespoke Designs

I decided to go with the theme of black, white and gold.  It is simple but elegant. With my red lips, it made the entire outfit more interesting.  Most importantly, it made me feel like a princess :)

I prefer jewellery that has a character to it, not the commercialized ones. I am always searching for local designers, those jewellery are usually handmade and unique. I came across this set at a Bazaar in Discovery Bay. This designer sources her own stones as she travels. I fell in love with the set because you can wear it with really dressed up clothing like I did for this blog or even just casual-wear. It's so versatile.  I definitely made good use of it :)

That's all for this week! Our next blog will come out next Friday, written by our lovely J. Keep an eye out! Leave us your thoughts :)

Passion for Dashion

"Fashion fades, style is enternal" - Yves Saint Laurent (YSL)

Dash•ion (dshn) - "Dance - fashion"
Hime () - the Japanese word for "princess", or for a lady of higher birth. Daughters of a monarch are actually referred to by other terms, e.g. Ōjo (王女), literally king's daughter.

We are just three crazy, fun-loving psychos who have:
  • an obsession for fashion
  • a love for dance
Let's do the math...

\therefore \!\, obsession(fashion) + love(dance) = Passion for Dashion

This is how it all began.

We are authentic honkies that live in Hong Kong, as you can see the idea of Dashion all began at the most famous cha charn tang (teahouse) there is in one of our crazy episodes.

"FANCING" "DASHION" "dashion???? DASHION!"
Among the three of us, we have amazing dancers and a love for dressing up. Don't all girls? We have decided to do a blog that will make dance and fashion fun! We will each do an individual blog every week that will lead up to a main theme of the cycle. Love it, hate it, let us know, we can do better! Try to guess our theme throughout the cycle.  Follow our blog and we will have more other projects coming up to tantalize your inner-dashionista!

Let us introduce ourselves with pictures that will best describe us!

Lace Top - Forever 21
Jeggings - Uni Qlo
Spike heels - Steve Madden

My kind of outfit is one where I can dress up or dress down easily as I love going to various places. I may go from dinner with family to a night out with my girls with limited time to change. Lace grew on me, it could be classy, sexy and fun! Together with my Steve Maddens, my perfect outfit. - T

Slashed-sleeves' top - Ebay (Love Ebay!)
Lace top, gloves & cap- Random shops in HK/China
Red Jeans - River Island
Shoes - Keds

I'm all about dance. My ideal outfit is one where I can simply dance away at any given time! (And as you can see, I go for anything that looks nice - even if it's a random shop..) Nevertheless, majority of the time, there is always some form of dance-inspired piece to my outfits! - J

Dress - Cotton On
Belt - unknown
Crop Jacket - In & Out
Blue wedges - Forever 21

Blue makes me look good cause it matches my skin. It brings out my tan. I chose this outfit because I'm more a casual kind of girl. I LOVE convenience and dresses are the best solution. I mismatch a lot, but hey it's my style and I love it! - K

There you have it dashionistas! Finally, Dashion-hime has launched! Our first 'cycle' will be coming up - starting on Friday, 25th January 2013. We have lots planned ahead for you, so keep a weather eye on the horizon - let the fun and themes start rolling!
