Childhood shenanigans

Ocean Park is one of our favourite places to visit. When we first met, it was the time we started to reach the height where we could go on the rides. We were fearless. We wanted to try EVERYTHING. Let's see how we do 15 years later.

Because this is re-living our childhood, we tried to dress as alike as we would when we were younger. And we were acting silly and all, but that's just the usual us. Here we will have a closer look of our outfit today!

J is wearing a T-shirt from Armani Exchange (not Emporio Armarni as she mistakenly stated in the video) and booty shorts. Of course she has her all time favourite keds on. She's ready to take her day on at Ocean Park!

T has on a T-shirt that her boyfriend bought her when they went shopping in Mong Kok. She loves it cause it reminds her of her dog when she was younger. Her shorts are from Cotton On, which is featured previously in It's a girl thing. T's juicy jacket is made of terrycloth, which makes it very convenient for a day out. Her skull shoes are from Steve Madden.

T & J are wearing matching jewelleries today, just like how when you were young, you and your best friend would want to have the same thing. Today their accessories, the cross rings, mini skull and mini clover come from Style By Essenza. T's friendship bracelets are handmade by her other very talented best friend, V, as a birthday gift.

Now lets begin our day at Ocean Park!

Into the aquarium we go..... :)

Even though I was busy capturing J's crazyness, I still managed to take some snapshots of the beautiful sea creatures and adorable animals there have in the Ocean Park Hong Kong.

The animals doing their thing, like a boss.

If you observe closely, you would see that the penguins are actually undercover, Government agents on a secret mission to deliver and execute 'O.C' - Operation Cute.

After each of the visits with the lovely animals, OF COURSE we mucked around in the gift stores.

Venturing into the unknown of seaweed land...

and abducting adorable animals...

Most of all, we left our mark (erasable, though), made a wish and went back to Old Hong Kong in Ocean Park as well!

Ten years down the line, we return to a place where all our childhood memories are embedded. It is almost as if, our child souls have taken over for the period we were there - we felt so carefree, happy and ever-so-slightly idiotic.

Nothing screams 'Good ole' times!' like this trip back to Ocean Park.

Hope you enjoyed joining us in our trip back to childhood! How about you? What was the highlight of your childhood? Did you have a best friend where you guys planned to wear matching outfits as well? Do let us know - we would like to hear from you!

Tweet us or Instagram us: @dashionhime your photographs or comments and we'll be randomly featuring it throughout the week!

Fun, fun, fun - here, there and anywhere!

HELLO dear Dashionistas!

I do apologise greatly for the delay in my post - I've recently been completely taken out by rehearsals for last weekend's performance (like, literally - you know like in Pokemon when the life bar just goes red and continuously blinks? Yeh, that.)

Dancing Angels at rehearsals :)
(Photography credits: HK Littlears)

But I did prepare something to post for your enjoyment. So take a look below. This is what T and I tend to do on a random night, when we have nothing to do after work and just... have fun - here, there and anywhere!

There's more to come further down this post! But first, we're going to have a quick look in photos on what we were wearing for our little rendezvous at Causeway Bay.

As you can see, we opted for casual-wear (and at that time, I've literally just finished work!).

I wore one of my favourite stripey, long-sleeved top and black, 'lai-si' (which literally means 'expel poo', lol - the crotch lining design of the trousers is very long, no poo was harmed in the making of this post) trousers. Of course, I paired it with  my red Ked's.

For T, she was actually having a night out as well after, so she dressed up with a nice, light and patterned top, with black leggings (and as you may have heard in the video - leather-like texture) and boots.

So as promised (and forced!), here is the video snippet of me dancing on the streets! (lol, technically I was on a nice, elevated platform...)

So, dear Dashionistas, what is your idea of fun and what is your 'fun-time fashion' like? We would love to hear from you! Tweet us or Instagram us on @dashionhime or comment in the comment section below to let us know!

Lots of love from D-h! :) x
P.S. I will try and keep up to date more now! So sorry once again for the wait!

It's a girl thing

Dear all,

I am just going to say it out loud and admit it.

I'm a shopaholic. There, I said it.

I went on a shopping spree today for my upcoming trip to Kota Kinabalu.  Initially I just planned to have lunch and go watch Iron Man 3 with my boyfriend, which by the way was really good. But since we had two hours in between lunch and movie, my dear boyfriend suggested we go shopping for our upcoming trip. At my three most favourite places - Cotton On, H&M and Zara.

I walked into Cotton On and all hell broke loose.

I was on a mission and there was no stopping me! After spending nearly an hour in the store, I walked out with my prizes and $1,000+ less in my bank account.  Here I was thinking "Okay, I am done for today." But the second I walked into H&M, that thought was out the window. Finally after another hour, it was almost time for the movie, and my boyfriend thought it'd be best to keep me out of Zara since I spent another $1,000 in H&M.

Nonetheless, I love all the stuff I bought today and I keep saying, its not JUST for the trip, some of the things I can wear for work too! So it will be worth it :) But below are a few outfits that I have purchased for my vacation.

This blue denim dress is from Zara. I love the details of the dress at the back. It is simple yet classy!

This black tiger sleeveless caught my eye the minute I walked into H&M. It could be paired with leggings.

This top is from Zara and the shorts are from Cotton On. This outfit is going to be perfect for the summer heat in Kota Kinabalu.

I love this long floral dress from Cotton On, the fabric is light and comfortable. The length of this dress elongates your entire body and make you look longer, hence taller and leaner.

The top and skirt are both from H&M. The top is just a basic tank for like 30 bucks. The skirt is silky with a tribal pattern.  I decided to pair it this way for a more casual and light look. It also says "I'm ready for my vacation!!"

This comes to the end of my shopping spree. For this week. I hope. But hey! Loving clothes and shopping is just a girl thing! "Discover the joy of shopping and you will find happiness." says the shopaholic. On a serious note, to be able to buy something that you really like when it is affordable or unbelievably cheap, is really satisfying.  I once went to Cotton On to buy a blazer, thinking its like $200. When I got to the cashier, turns out it was on sale for $25!! That kind of satisfaction just cannot be explained. Anyhow, you now have a glimpse of me being a shopaholic.  Shop-away dashionistas!

Backstage Pass

"When I am off the stage, my life consists of... well, dance. But a more... 'behind-the-scenes' way - the training, the stretching, the things to be done so to deliver for the audience. It's more than a way of life, it's a being." - J ♥

Everyone has a 'behind-the-scenes' life - one does not have to be a superstar to have that. Friends have the VIP backstage passes to our lives; certain friends and family have the VVIP backstage passes to another part of our lives ...
But it is only us selves that have that VVVVV(x 100)VIP backstage passes to THAT one specific part of our lives - outside of work, outside of nights out with friends, beyond the days you spend with friends and family: just you

This is where your 'Me' outfit comes in.

Your 'Me' outfit: just you, strolling down Soho or something, on a random day, without a specific place to arrive at, or any errands you need to tend to. Yes, those days we may usually call 'random' but in fact, is your backstage day; your SOLE/SOUL - SO(u)L(e) day. (see what I did there, BOOM!)
As mentioned previously in D-h's launch post, I stated that my personal style is that of anything I can dance in; dance-related. So, to go into more detail, ANYTHING to do with dance - aesthetically and functionally. For me, even when I'm not on the stage, I am constantly engaged with dance.
So what's my SO(u)L(e) day/'Me' outfit like?

Well, top, shorts and a selection of 'I-can-dance-in-them-shoes' shoes (which basically, are all my shoes).
Shorts, I love shorts. God bless whoever it was that invented shorts. Even during winter, I'd just pair it with tights. It is indeed very casual, but for the 'behind-the-scenes' days, it is Godsend.
With that, I can match it with many different tops, especially a top that I LOVE, recently discovered and bought, and actually have not been worn yet as I was waiting to showcase it on D-h first, so here it is!
Shorts: Blue Asphalt
Top: b + ab
Tights: Market! ;)
Shoes: Converse
Usually, I would opt for two rings - on my right thumb and index - to match many of my SO(u)L(e) day outfits, and usually it'll either be the silver pair as seen in the picture above, or my gold pair. (I LOVE RINGS!) Aside from that, no other accessories - bare minimum get up (and makeup).
Think... Bruno Mars' song 'Lazy Song' - that should be all our official SO(u)L(e) song (lol, no pressure. Not that we're lazy or anything, it's just so... soulful!).

Though if you're one that'd like to add more glam to your SO(u)L(e) day outfits, be sure to have a read through T's 'Biglamous' post from last week to check out how to glam up any simple (like, seriously simple) getups!

So beyond the stage we are on called 'Daily Life'; the VIP-est of VIP backstage passes to our lives that which only we solely own, what is YOUR 'Me' outfit?

Tweet us (dashionhime) or Instagram us (@dashion_hime) your snapshots and we'll hoist your SO(u)L(e) outfits onto the
limelight! [ ... and whilst you are at it, might as well give us a follow! ;)]
